BIOGRAPHY

Emerging playwright Ellen Dean Price has had five produced plays in the last five years. The Heiress of Hawtrey Hall (finalist, Henley Rose, selection Hudson Valley Theatre Festival) had an amateur production for sold out audiences in 2024. The Misfit Players, (2023, upcoming 2026), A Backstage Christmas (upcoming 2025) and her first original play, The Social Secretary (2021, and 2025) have had multiple staged readings and local productions. Her newest play, Over the Anvil, was selected for a staged reading with Winchester Little Theatre for 2026. She has been thrilled to collaborate with composer Ryan Carroll for a musical version of The Social Secretary which had a staged sing through in April 2025 and is currently in development. 

 

Originally from New England, Ellen now lives in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley with her husband, Alan, and their rescue dog, Cole.
